Is connecting Instagram safe?
Yes. Here is exactly what happens.
- Instagram's own login screen. You sign in on instagram.com, not here. Auto DM never sees or stores your password.
- Meta-reviewed app. Auto DM uses Meta's official Instagram API and passed Meta's App Review for the three permissions below. That is the same route tools like ManyChat use.
- Three permissions, nothing more. Read your profile and posts, read comments on your posts, send a DM as a reply to a comment. It cannot post for you, follow or unfollow anyone, read your inbox, or change your account.
- Only people who comment first. Instagram allows a DM only in reply to a comment someone left on your post. Auto DM cannot message anyone else, by design.
- Switch it off in one tap. Instagram Settings → Apps and websites → Remove. Access ends immediately and your data is deleted within 30 days. Or disconnect from the dashboard.
- Business or Creator account. Meta requires it for any automation. Switching from Personal is free and reversible.
