Privacy Policy
Auto DM lets Instagram creators automatically send a direct message to people who comment a chosen keyword on their posts. This policy explains what data the service handles and why.
What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and a salted hash of your password. We never store the password itself.
- Instagram account data: when you connect an Instagram professional account we store its Instagram account ID, username, and the access token Instagram issues to us. The token lets us read comments on your posts and send messages on your behalf.
- Comment data: when someone comments on your post, Instagram sends us the comment ID, the comment text, the commenter's Instagram ID and username, and the post ID. We use it only to decide whether a keyword rule matches.
- Message log: for each automated message we record which rule fired, the commenter's ID and username, the time, and whether Instagram accepted the message. This log is shown to you in your dashboard.
- Your rules: the keywords and message templates you create.
We do not read your private messages beyond what Instagram delivers to the app for the conversations it started.
How we use it
Only to run the service you configured: match comments against your rules, send the message you wrote, and show you what was sent. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties other than Meta, which is the platform the service runs on.
Where it is stored
Data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Secrets are encrypted at rest by Cloudflare. Only the service operator has access.
Retention
Account data, connected Instagram accounts, and rules are kept while your account exists. Comment events and message logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted. When you disconnect an Instagram account or delete your Auto DM account, everything tied to it is deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You can disconnect an Instagram account at any time from the dashboard, which revokes our access token. You can request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing deepanshuksingh@gmail.com or following the steps on the Data Deletion page. You can also remove the app from your Instagram account under Settings, Apps and websites, which revokes our access immediately.
Meta Platform
Auto DM uses the Instagram API provided by Meta and complies with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will note the new date at the bottom of this page.
